It should prove useful for anyone interested in using market research or industry statistics for business planning, whether the purpose is to track the latest grape or price segment trends, research export markets, or better understand consumer behavior. Because new services are continually offered, this guide will be updated and maintained online via www.mkf.com and www.winebusiness.com. USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service
Links for state offices are at www.usda.gov/nass/sso-rpts.htm The quality and presentation of the individual state data varies widely as the data are collected by the individual state governments. The data, however, can be quite useful, particularly with respect to grape supply.

The BATF's wine, beer and distilled spirits tax collection and regulatory oversight responsibilities remained as part of the US Treasury and were transferred to the Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB). The remainder of the BATF, including its responsibilities for firearms, explosives, arson and criminal enforcement was transferred to the US Justice Department.
