Position Summary
Under general supervision, performs a variety of maintenance in skilled trade areas such as carpentry, plumbing, painting, automotive, vineyard equipment, mechanical maintenance, electrical and air conditioning/heating/ ventilation. To provide journey level support in electrical and routine support in a variety of others. Assignments are complex and require journey level knowledge of methods, tools, codes, procedures, and material characteristics. Tasks involve complex troubleshooting, modification, installation, repair, servicing and similar maintenance operations where detailed knowledge and experience is required. Requires a well-rounded and experienced knowledge of the practices, tools, equipment, and materials used in skilled trade areas.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Under minimal supervision, ability to troubleshoot, maintain, inspect, repair, or replace malfunctioning components of electrical, refrigeration, plumbing, heating, cooling system, structural, lighting, furnishings, fixtures, and other equipment.
• Performs required service requests for repairs and maintenance; determines the nature of the problem and recommends appropriate solutions for production and facilities to the maintenance supervisor.
• Performs skilled level repairs and modifications on buildings and grounds performing tasks such as but not limited to plumbing, electrical, fabrication, construction, welding, painting, handy-man type tasks, moving furniture, and may include offsite maintenance of properties and equipment.
• Ability to fabricate moderately complex systems including, but not limited to, piping systems, small electrical panels, or equipment to support production needs.
• Use an electrical meter up to 480 VAC in troubleshooting and repairing electrical equipment.
• Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains a wide variety of facility plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems.
• Conducts preventative maintenance inspections and performs required preventative maintenance actions as instructed.
• Provide maintenance support and repair assistance in the fields of automotive and vineyard equipment.
• Maintain clean and orderly work areas free of hazards.
• Help communicate with outside vendors for repairs and routine services needed.
• Assist in other grounds, landscaping, or maintenance activities as needed.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and identifying potential issues.
Qualifications
• Years of Experience: 5 or more years’ experience in winery and facilities maintenance or equivalent.
• Education: High school diploma or GED required. Requires trade level certification in electrical systems.
• Additional understanding of mechanical, plumbing, welding, carpentry, HVAC, water systems, including pumps, plumbing, filters, sanitation, well and irrigation equipment. This includes all safety procedures and protocols.
• Requires journey level knowledge of methods, tools, codes, procedures, and material characteristics.
• Ability to perform basic math and basic computer skills required.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
• Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
• Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance.
• Ability to understand all safety requirements and cautions.
• Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
• Regularly lift and/or carry objects weighing 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and arms to operate tools and equipment; push pull, and grasp objects; climb, twist, crouch, kneel or stoop for extended periods of time.
• Operate forklifts for moving supplies.
• Knowledge of operating boom and other aerial lifts for working at elevated levels above ground.
• Drive company vehicles to pick up and deliver parts and/or supplies.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• The ability to work overtime, and/or night shift, on-call, including emergencies outside of normal working hours required.
• Bilingual Spanish speaking skills a plus.
