Job Description:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

- Assist vineyard crew in specific tasks, making sure tasks/jobs are carried out correctly to the standards of their supervisor.
- Pruning, suckering, positioning, tucking, tying, hedging, tipping, leafing, fruit thinning, harvesting, etc.
- Planting and training new and young vines
- Under vine management, including shoveling
- Ensure that the crew is working in accordance with safety procedures
- Observe employee performance and results. Takes notes of individuals' strengths and weaknesses and is able to
teach/train vineyard workers in more efficient protocols.
- Follows and enforces company policies and safety procedures
- Works with the Vineyard Operations Team to recruit and terminate workers
- Promote a better working environment (coaching, praising, training, listening, and consideration of employee’s needs
and concerns, stressing about sexual harassment and discrimination-free workplace, etc.)
- Immediately reports to the supervisor of any work-related accidents to the workers
- Alert and aware during high-stress weather conditions (rain, heat, frost protection, etc.).
- Keeps track, reviews, codes, and approves timecards
- Other vineyard duties as assigned by your Vineyard Operations Team


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

- Vineyard skills (pruning, canopy work, in-row work, harvesting, etc.)
- Able to understand and communicate with supervisor in English and/or Spanish
- Able to work flexible schedules
- Eagerness to learn and open to new growing practices
- Observe and report issues (disease, mildew, pests, etc.)
- Experience supervising crews is a plus
- CA Driver’s License a plus

Resumen:
El puesto de Mayordomo de Viñedo es el de supervisar las tareas de las cuadrillas de viñedo asignadas por el Equipo de Operaciones de Viñedo. El Mayordomo de Viñedo trabaja de cerca con el Equipo de Operaciones de Viñedo para asegurarse que los viñedos estén cumpliendo con las reglas de seguridad y asegurándose de que los trabajos sean completados con alta calidad y en tiempo razonable para producir uvas de vino de primera categoría.

Funciones básicas y expectativas:

•  Supervisar y asistir las cuadrillas de viñedo en tareas específicas, asegurarse que las tareas/trabajos se lleven a cabo correctamente y siguiendo las normas de su supervisor.
•  Supervisar poda, amare, soca, posicionamiento, poda en verde, despunte, deshoje, desahíjo, cosecha, etc.

•  Asegurarse que la cuadrilla este trabajando en acuerdo con los procedimientos de seguridad.
•  Observar el desempeño y resultados de los empleados. Tomar nota de las fortalezas y debilidades de los empleados y ser capaz de enseñar/entrenar los trabajadores de viñedos protocolos más eficientes.
•  Seguir y hacer cumplir la póliza y procedimientos de seguridad de la compañía
•  Trabajar con el Equipo de Operaciones de Viñedos para reclutar y terminar trabajadores.
•  Promover un buen ambiente laboral (entrenar, felicitar, guiar, escuchar y considerar las necesidades y preocupaciones de los empleados, promoviendo un ambiente de trabajo libre de discriminación y acoso sexual, etc.)
•  Inmediatamente reportar a su supervisor de cualquier accidente relacionado al trabajo.
•  Avisar y estar al pendiente durante condiciones climáticas severas (lluvia, calor, protección de heladas, etc.)
•  Revisar, codificar, y aprobar las tarjetas de tiempo de los empleados de la cuadrilla.
•  Otros deberes de viñedo asignados por el Equipo de Operaciones de Viñedo.
•  Promover cultura de Pimentel Vineyard Management a todos los empleados.
•  Revisión de métricos y AgCode.
