Job Description:

Trump Winery, Virginia’s largest vineyard, is looking for a dedicated Field Supervisor to join our team. With nearly 200 acres of French vinifera varieties dedicated to producing both still and sparkling wines, the Field Supervisor will play a vital role in refining our vineyard farming practices. As the state’s largest winery and vineyard operation, we are committed to cultivating premium quality grapes. This position offers the opportunity to oversee day-to-day vineyard operations, including hands-on farming and managing seasonal H2A labor, all within a collaborative and supportive work environment.

Position Title: Field Supervisor
Location: Trump Winery in Charlottesville, VA - 15 minutes south of Charlottesville city limits, 20 minutes north of Scottsville, VA
Hours: Full-time, non-exempt, regularly scheduled 40 hours/week; Typically Monday – Friday, variable during the growing season based on weather. Some weekend hours are required during peak season
Wage: $20-$25/hour, depending on experience

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Vineyard duties include planting, pruning, canopy management, trellis installation and repair, and harvesting
Ensure a continuous clean workplace
Train, direct, and motivate less skilled temporary workers
Manage priorities and workflow
Keep Manager informed of progress of crew
Provide and move water and bathrooms so crew has access throughout work day
Keep track of PPE needs, i.e. gloves, dust masks, etc.


REQUIREMENTS:
Commitment to Excellence and high standards
3-5 years supervising crews
Able to understand and communicate in English and Spanish
Vineyard/agricultural experience preferred
Ability to take direction
Demonstrate a positive, can do attitude and communication skills that fit well within a team environment
Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
Understand and comply with any and all safety requirements and cautions
Ability to work long hours and/or 7 days a week during critical times – harvest
Reliability in attendance and punctuality
Knowledge of agricultural chemicals and how to use them safely and correctly.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide
