Echolands Winery – Cellar Technician I

Echolands Winery is a Walla Walla-dedicated winery, producing wines of nuance, balance, and elegance. With reverence for classic styles, and an equal passion for avant-garde winemaking, Echolands aims to create new paradigms and test the possibilities of the Walla Walla Valley AVA.

We are seeking a focused and dedicated Cellar Technician I, to support our winemaking team.

About the Position:

The Cellar Technician I position is the entry-level cellar position for wine work and cellar movements. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with winery processes and equipment types. They will assist the cellar team with cleaning, forklifting, racking and barrel work, filtration, bottling, and all harvest operations. The cellar tech I hire must be willing to learn and interested in gaining knowledge regarding all production operations in and out of the cellar. This position is a great way to learn how all cellar operations are planned and executed start to finish within a wineries annual cycle.

Duties and responsibilities will include (but aren't limited to):
- Maintain an efficient, clean, and operational winery for world-class wine production.
- Assist winemaking team in thoughtful cellar management and precise winery work.
- Conduct great winery sanitation and be a hands-on cellar worker.
- Able and willing to approach all cellar tasks as a positive opportunity to learn.
- Search for and execute continuous improvement opportunities
- Contribute to strong team dynamic through clear communication, positive attitude, and good work ethic.
- Ability to work standard 40-hour workweek’s with overtime expected during harvest and busy times of year.
- Other duties as required


Job Qualifications:
- 1+ year in a winery performing cellar work preferred.
- Must be physically fit, able to perform all aspects of cellar work (lifting up to 50 pounds, crouching, cleaning, with endurance for the full workday where constant physical activity is required)
- Have the ability to stand on hard surfaces for long periods of time.
- Having the ability to forklift barrels and bins is a plus (but can be taught DOE)
- Must have a high attention to detail.
- Leadership skills and stewardship of positive culture are a must.
- Ability to communicate clearly and positively with all team members
- Proficiency with winemaking software and tracking systems a plus
- Goal-driven and problem-solving mentality
- Great sense of humor.
- History of responsible use of alcohol and other substances, and record of proper conduct.
- Ability to be licensed, permitted, and/or certified by state and local authorities. Clean driving record.

Compensation:
- $20-$22 per hour DOE
- Discretionary Annual Performance Bonuses of 10%+ of base salary – targets set by production manager, and winemaker


With an average of 30 hours or more per week, the following benefits include:
