Job Summary:
Oversee and direct vineyard activities of vineyard crews and equipment operators, under the guidance of the Winemaker/Vineyard Manager.

Job Description:
1. Communicates with winemaker to understand work assignments, goals, etc.
2. Coordinates and supervises daily tasks of one or more internal crews.
3. Coordinates and supervises work carried out by Farm Labor Contractor crew(s).
4. Coordinates and supervises work carried out by equipment operators.
5. Carries out assigned work tasks, which may include irrigation, repair and maintenance, or other tasks necessary for safe and effective operations.
6. Assists with harvest and harvest-related winery activities when needed.
7. Monitors crews and operators to maintain quality and productivity levels.
8. Enforces equipment maintenance, cleaning and storage procedures.
9. Trains and evaluates personnel in procedures, safety and vineyard operations.
10. Ensures that proper safety and sanitary procedures are maintained.
11. Champions and demonstrates workplace safety to all employees.
12. Reports all accidents and injuries immediately to management.

Job Requirements:
1. Work experience in vineyard management.
2. Bilingual in English and Spanish.
3. Able to work flexible hours.
4. Able to read and write clearly. Competent with basic math.
5. Understand farm equipment operation and basic maintenance.
6. Valid California driver’s license, not under restriction or suspension.

Physical Qualifications:
1. Able to lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds.
2. Able to work outdoors, walk up and down hills on uneven ground, and perform all basic vineyard tasks.
3. Able to work in conditions where they may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
4. Able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste and smell.
5. Able to listen, understand and communicate clearly.
