JOB TITLE: Tasting Room Host and Sales

OVERVIEW: Martorana Family Winery is a well established, all organic, family-owned and operated winery in the heart of Dry Creek Valley, specializing in Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel, and Petite Sirah. We are looking for a wine professional who wishes to share our story, wines, and experiences with our guests in an intimate and unique location to form great memories, sell wine and wine clubs, and create lifelong fans. The perfect candidate has enthusiasm for wine and possesses wine and wine sales knowledge as well as an ability to understand what guests are looking for in an experience at Martorana Family Winery.

JOB DESCRIPTION: As a Tasting Room Host, your first priority is our guests and their experience at the winery. You are responsible for wine and club sales and ensuring an exceptional experience and delivering high level product knowledge, hospitality, and customer service. This job will be Thur-Sunday (up to 30 hrs/wk). This is a great entry level job for candidates who want to learn the wine industry. Other duties and responsibilities listed below.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
•    Opening and closing the tasting room.
•    Greeting guests.
•    Book reservations via phone & email.
•    Provide excellent customer service relating to guests needs.
•    Sell wine and the wine club.
•    Assist with and attend events at the winery. (occasionally offsite)
•    Learn the history of the winery and the Martorana Family.
•    Understand details of our wines and farming practices.
•    Provide additional customer service by referring restaurants and other attractions.
•    Assist with special winery hospitality events.
•    Help keep our tasting room, kitchen, and picnic area clean and organized.
•    Maintain a clean and safe work environment and adhere to all current health and safety requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
•    1-2+ customer service and sales in the retail hospitality industry desired but not required.
•    Professional personal presentation required.
•    Basic knowledge of data points important to the wine business (sales conversion, visitation)
•    Understand the need to sell wine and wine clubs.
•    Ability to work well individually and within a small team environment.
•    Strong computer skills: previous POS experience is preferred.
•    California Responsible Beverage Service Certification desired
•    Must be 21 years of age or over, able to lift 45 lbs.

COMPENSATION
•    Compensation is hourly and range begins at $25/hr., plus tips with additional opportunities for monthly commissions.
