Obsidian Wine Company is looking for harvest cellar interns for the 2025 vintage. We are seeking motivated, hardworking, fun and detail-oriented cellar interns to help make 2025 the best vintage ever. You will work within a small, highly experienced and dedicated winemaking team on all aspects of harvest winery operations. Previous cellar experience a plus but not a deal breaker as we’re happy to train the right candidates and let’s be honest, this is not rocket surgery, we’re making booze. Harvest positions start mid-August and run through mid-November with flexibility in start and end dates.
We are focused on making the finest wines from our estate vineyards aged in our proprietary cooperage. That’s right, we own our own cooperage and make our own barrels. We make Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from our Napa Carneros property and Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah from our hillside vineyard in the Red Hills of Lake County.
We also dabble in some more esoteric and fun projects for our Rabbit Hole projects that you will get hands on experience with. Everything from Pet-Nats to fruit wines and ciders, and more. Our interns also get to work with some of the finest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay the west coast has to offer through our top notch custom crush clients and be exposed to various talented, well respected winemakers and their unique winemaking styles. We realize that for our interns, this is an educational journey and experience and so do our custom crush winemakers, so we make every effort to share our collective knowledge about what and why we do what we do during harvest.
Obsidian Wine Company’s production winery is located in downtown Sonoma.
