Retail/Tasting Room Host (New Location)

Job Description:

This is a full-time Retail/Tasting Room Host position in Healdsburg that requires great guest service and a warm, friendly presence. Our Retail/Tasting Room Host will be able to tell the story of our Olive Oil, Cline & Jacuzzi history with pride and enthusiasm. This person will be responsible for hosting tastings and selling our products. We are looking for a front-line associate who enjoys center stage but also the selling environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tasting Room: Always be aware all of guests. Acknowledge each guest by making eye contact, smiling warmly and welcome customers at all times even if you are already helping a group. Be aware of your surroundings.
Conducting Olive Oil Tastings and Wine Tasting:
Educate, Entertain, promote our Olive oils/Balsamic vinegar, gifts, etc. Promote sister properties
Friendly, professional and flexible attitude
Professional appearance
Ability to tend to multiple customers in a public setting
Ability to close the sale. Explain and offer Club accurately
Be knowledgeable and accurate when using the register
Able to perform quality of work efficiently with minimal supervision
Washing of glasses when needed

Maintenance of Retail Tasting Room:
Organizing, stocking supplies
Cleaning – keep tasting areas, retail space and property neat and organized; clean and sanitized to COVID standards.
Mark out Oils/Wines used for tasting and refill samplers as needed.

Tasting Room Up-keep:
Maintain inventory on retail shelves
Samples replenished for tasting when appropriate
Empty trash when needed
Stock bags, tasting cups, etc.
Notify Manager of any potential safety hazards.
Clean Up and sanitize as needed, during slow periods and at end of day.
Teamwork: Be a hands-on team player, contribute to the upkeep of the Tasting Room area and venues, and work-cooperatively with your colleagues. No job is too small and no job is someone else’s responsibility.
Knowledge of all winery programs, olive oil programs, email promos and offerings, ability to upsell, knowledge of Olive Press Oils, basic knowledge of olive oil and wine making, knowledge of the POS system and other topics covered in this manual are expected of all hosts.
Process discounts in accordance with the procedure, you may not process your own discount.
All other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Warm, friendly and smiling demeaner. Outgoing personality. Professional, reliable, Trust-worthy.
Able to work a flexible schedule (weekends, holidays and evenings)
Show appropriate balance between working as a teammate and working independently.
Ability and desire to become knowledgeable about:
Olive/Grape growing, Process of both Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Wine
Remain standing and actively working for up to 10 hours with limited breaks
Lift up to 45 pounds repeatedly
Safely use ladder and dolly
Be comfortable addressing and talking to large groups of people
Take direction as needed, be able to accept change quickly and respond accordingly.


REQUIREMENTS:
Experience, Knowledge, and Skills
Must be 21 years of age or older
Must be able to successfully pass the Food Handler’s Training and Responsible Beverage Serving Training and Test.
Possess a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Reliable and punctual.
Willingness to help in a multitude of tasks.
Ability to respond to frequently changing needs and priorities.
Candidate must pass a pre-employment physical exam and drug screening.
Ability to take direction and respond promptly to customer needs in a busy environment.
Fulfill shift as directed, which includes weekends, holidays and special events.
Remain Standing and actively working for up to 10 hours with limited breaks
Must be able to communicate both verbal and written in English, a second language is desirable.
Must be able to do simple math and use business machinery including computers and cash registers.

Physical Demands
Continuous standing and walking on hard surfaces
Lift up to 45 pounds repeatedly
Safely use step stool and ladder.
Ability to frequently bend and twist.
Ability to occasional kneeling and crouching.
Ability to continuously reach above and below shoulder level.
Hand use for fine manipulation including grasping, squeezing, mouse and keyboard use.
Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of up to 45 pounds.
Able to work in all kinds of weather (rain, cold, wind, heat, sun).
Be comfortable addressing and talking to large groups of people.

Work Schedule: Thursday - Monday
Pay Range: $18 - $20/hour + tips
