Pride Mountain Vineyards, a family-owned and operated winery perched high atop the Mayacamas Mountains between St. Helena and Santa Rosa, is looking for a Harvest Intern for the 2025 season (August – December).
Interested candidates should be hardworking, kind, considerate and eager to learn.
Essential qualifications:
• Authorization through CAEP.org for international candidates
• Authorization to work in the US
• A driver’s license valid in California
• Ability to communicate clearly in English (spoken and written)
• Ability to perform demanding physical work (indoor and outdoor) including but not limited to lifting 50 lbs. repeatedly, positioning heavy equipment, bending, climbing, pulling or squatting for long periods
• Sufficient math proficiency to accurately add, subtract, divide and multiply
• Ability to obtain forklift certification (training and testing provided by winery)
• Ability to understand and comply with all safety training requirements
Preferred qualifications:
• B.S. in Viticulture, Enology or a related field
• Two or more harvests worked
• Prior forklift training
Typical duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Daily fermentation management including pump overs, punch downs, rack & returns and stirring
• Vineyard and fermentation sampling
• Sanitation of cellar and crush equipment
• Wine movements including tank-to-tank transfers, racking, and barreling down
• Fruit processing including receiving, pressing, dumping, de-stemming and crushing
• Fermentation monitoring including sampling for Brix, temperature and lab samples
• Inoculations and additions
