Aubert Wines is a luxury brand specializing in ‘Grand Cru’ Single Vineyard Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs from Napa Valley and Sonoma County. Our winery is in Calistoga, Napa Valley. We are seeking two candidates for extended internship roles with wide-ranging vineyard and winery responsibilities. These positions are an important part of our small winemaking team and will offer opportunities to become immersed in the full gamut of wine production during and beyond harvest.
2025 Extended Vineyard and Winery Interns - Position Summary:
We are seeking candidates for roles lasting approximately 4-6 months. One position will start in Mid-June and assist with our summer bottling run, while the other will join the team in August. Both positions extend to the December holiday season and have a possibility for extension into Spring 2026. This is a unique opportunity to participate in extended winery operations before, during, and after harvest. Successful applicants will develop and gain a wide-ranging skillset in the vineyard, lab, and cellar that are the essential elements of a well-rounded production team member.
Responsibilities:
Cellar
• General winery sanitation
• Fruit reception and processing
• Press loading and operation
• Cap management
• Barrel work
• Racking and blending
• Assistance with bottling
Lab
• Conduct lab analysis on juice and wine samples
• Pull barrel samples for analysis, bench trials, and tastings
• Data entry into winery tracking software
• Monitor fermentations by measuring and recording brix and temperature
• Participation in staff tastings
Vineyard
• Collect and process vineyard maturity samples
• Assist with vineyard pest and disease monitoring and sample collection
• Collect data for phenology tracking and crop estimates
• Budwood sampling and processing, as needed
Qualifications:
• Candidates should have a passion for wine and desire to learn more about production at an ultra-premium level.
• Degree in Viticulture, Enology, Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, or other science related field preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, yet calm and collected, environment.
• Previous harvest experience preferred.
• Forklift experience a plus.
• Working knowledge of modern production equipment, techniques, and basic operations.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Demonstrated reliability and punctuality.
• Ability to follow safety regulations, operating procedures, and company policies.
• Capacity to work autonomously and in a team environment.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Candidates will be expected to work in a wide range of hot and cold environments and weather, and to spend long hours on their feet.
• Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Willingness to work 6 to 7 days a week during harvest.
Time frame: June/August-December 2025 (with a possibility for extension)
Compensation: 25$/hr + applicable overtime. Lunch is provided during harvest.
