ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
To effectively lead and supervise employees in the day-to-day operation of Piña Vineyard Management.
Ability to perform general vineyard work and maintenance and all other related job functions.
Train employees to develop skills in all areas of vineyard work and maintenance, including pruning, suckering, canopy management, new vineyard installation, general ranch work, harvesting and all other vineyard related job functions.
Comply with State and Federal labor laws and codes, including observance of OSHA safety and sanitary requirements.
OTHER RELATED JOB FUNCTIONS
Maintain good and open communication with employees and provide for a safe and productive working environment.
Motivate employees and maintain high morale, high quality standards and high productivity.
Document in writing all disciplinary notices and actions taken, including verbal warnings. (This includes warnings issued for tardiness, absenteeism, poor work performance, unsafe practices, insubordination, etc.)
Always Represent Piña Vineyard Management positively with employees and clients.
Have reliable means of transportation (or make necessary arrangements) to report to work on time.
Flexibility to work different schedule(s), including availability to work daily overtime and/or weekends when required.
Willing to perform all other jobs and duties deemed necessary by management.
Always employ safe work practices and procedures.
Inform management of any potential labor related problems.
Consult with Vineyard Foreman (or Management if Foreman not available) when unsure of what course of action to take.
Ability to conduct objective and effective employee performance assessments.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
Have good understanding and practical experience of general vineyard work and maintenance.
Ability to understand and follow directions accurately and thoroughly and to communicate and collaborate effectively with co-workers and Foreman.
Have a good understanding of company rules and policies, work practices, job procedures and safety rules and emergency procedures.
Actively participate in company sponsored training programs.
