Job Description:

The Estate Host at Clos du Val will be an established wine sales and hospitality professional who is confident in their ability to tactfully sell premium wines, while helping to maintain and build Clos du Val’s brand standards. With a strong focus on providing outstanding customer service, the Estate Host interacts with guests and provides exceptional in-person customer service for guests and club members. The Estate Host is a key stakeholder in experiential marketing, driving brand initiatives concomitant with broader marketing directives. The ability to connect with people from various backgrounds and wine knowledge is a must. Team oriented, high energy, verbally proficient, efficient, and “can do” attitude are some of the expected attributes.


Duties and Responsibilities


•  Lead educational and entertaining wine tastings, ensuring guests have a memorable and engaging experience.

•  Proactively drive retail wine sales and wine club conversions through personalized recommendations and relationship-building.

•  Provide exceptional hospitality, ensuring all guests feel welcomed and valued.

•  Share the winery’s story, winemaking process, and vineyard practices in an engaging and informative manner.

•  Build and maintain relationships with guests to encourage repeat visits and long-term brand loyalty.

•  Support winery events, private tastings, and special experiences.

•  Assist in maintaining a well-organized and visually appealing tasting room environment.

•  Process transactions accurately, including wine sales, club sign-ups, and order fulfillment.

•  Stay current on industry trends, winery offerings, and competitive market insights.

Qualifications

•  2+ years of experience in wine sales, hospitality, or a related field.

•  Strong knowledge of wine and Napa Valley; formal wine education (WSET, CMS, etc.) is a plus.

•  Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals while delivering outstanding guest experiences.

•  Charismatic and engaging communication style with a passion for storytelling.

•  Ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.

•  Proficiency in POS and CRM systems (e.g., WineDirect, Tock, Salesforce).


Requirements

•  Ability to lift to 50 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods.

•  Must be 21 or older.

•  Ability to work in a moderately noisy environment.
