Maison Brondeau is a brand new, hospitality-driven wine store with 3,000 square feet of space in the heart of Westchester, New York. Located among a multitude of high-rise apartment complexes and office buildings, and part of the new Arcade Shops at City Square in White Plains, Maison Brondeau will be a one stop shop for all things Wine and Spirits with a focus on customer experience and community.

Due to open in the May 2025, Maison Brondeau will offer a large, comprehensive yet carefully curated global selection, alongside automated pouring machines and a tasting bar and lounge for product samplings, tasting sessions, and educational classes. The goal is to demystify the world of wine, making it enjoyable and understandable for everyone who walks through Maison Brondeau’s doors.

The cornerstone of Maison Brondeau’s approach lies in the commitment to hiring staff who prioritize customer experience above all else. Team members will be selected not only for their expert knowledge, but also for their warmth and genuine enthusiasm, offering one-on-one guidance and educational insights to customers in a clear and accessible manner.

We are hiring a Sommelier to work directly with our management team for ~20-30 hours per week. This role is responsible for acting as the face of Maison Brondeau, assisting in day-to-day operations and in-store sales, customer tastings, inventory management, & more.

Tasks / Responsibilities:
•  Operate registers and tasting area
•  Assist with in-store tasting samples from tasting machines or from ongoing free tasting/pouring events at the store. Use tasting samples as tool to upsell customers on specific products.
•  Select and merchandise wines for floor display and specialty cellar, ensuring proper signage and pricing for all products.
•  Participate in back of house stocking and storage of products and moving items from back of house to sales floor shelving.
•  Facilitate deliveries within the White Plains area (maximum 0.5miles distance)

Desired Skillset:
•  Minimum of 1 year working in a Wine & Spirits shop, Wine Bar, Restaurant or related field with emphasis on customer service and retail sales
•  Knowledge and background in Wine & Spirits, with a base level of official wine education (Intro CMS, WSET 1 or 2)
•  Someone who loves hospitality, and is committed to proudly representing the Maison Brondeau brand
•  Ability to work independently, and develop and build customer relationships
•  Committed to working together as a team to grow sales and customer base
•  Ability to learn and work within our in-person and e-commerce platforms
•  Available to work evenings and weekends
•  Ability to lift heavy boxes and crates
