Title: Vineyard Equipment Repair Specialist
Reports to: Director of Vineyard Operations & Vineyard Managers
Status: Hourly Non -Exempt
Compensation: $35 - $45 per hour
Job Summary:
Join our dynamic team at Anderson Vineyards as a Vineyard Equipment Repair Specialist! You'll play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing our essential vineyard equipment, ensuring smooth operations throughout the year. This position offers a mix of fieldwork and shop tasks, offering a well-rounded and practical experience.
Job Description:
• Safety First: Conduct safety inspections on all equipment and address any issues promptly.
• Equipment Expertise: Hook up, inspect, and repair various implements used in Vineyard Operations.
• Skilled Fabricator: Perform welding and fabricating tasks independently.
• Resource Management: Order and purchase parts and supplies within designated spending limits.
• Field Services: Drive to vineyard locations for on-site repairs and troubleshooting.
• Tool Mastery: Safely operate hand and power tools.
• Record Keeping: Maintain detailed service records and plan regular maintenance.
• Forklift Operation: Operate a forklift for various tasks.
• Harvest Support: Haul grapes during harvest using appropriate vehicles.
• Clean and Safe Workspace: Keep your work area clean and adhere to all safety regulations.
• Service Truck Operation: Operate service trucks and equipment trailers to transport supplies.
• Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust work priorities and hours as needed.
• Innovative Fabrication: Fabricate agricultural implements to enhance vineyard operations.
• Company Standards: Follow all company safety rules and regulations at all times.
Job Requirements:
• Technical Knowledge: Ability to read and understand service/repair manuals for diesel vineyard tractors and light/medium-duty trucks.
• Electrical Skills: Proficiency in automotive/tractor electrical systems and the ability to repair 12V & 24V systems.
• Diagnostic Abilities: Use diagnostic equipment to test diesel and gas engines, interpreting results to provide solutions.
• Hydraulic Understanding: Knowledge of tractor and implement hydraulics.
• Driver’s License: Valid Class C driver’s license (Class A or B required for specific vehicles).
• Computer Skills: Basic use of computers and maintenance software.
• Communication: Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
• Safety Commitment: Strong commitment to working safely.
• Availability: Willingness to work weekends and overtime as needed.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a mechanic in a reputable shop.
Physical Qualifications:
• Strength: Ability to regularly lift/move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds.
• Mobility: Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, see, and smell.
• Environmental Tolerance: Ability to work in conditions with fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals.
• Communication: Ability to listen, hear, and communicate effectively.
