Hospitality Floor Supervisor
Under the direction of the Hospitality Manager, the Hospitality Floor Supervisor supports the oversight of the day-to-day operations of the winery’s Historic Winery and Villa venues. This position plays a key role in facilitating sales programs, managing opening and closing duties, supervising employees, participating in tastings and hospitality programs, and implementing policies and procedures set forth by management. The Hospitality Floor Supervisor focuses on delivering exceptional guest experiences, achieving monthly sales goals, and fostering a positive and rewarding work environment for hospitality staff.
Essential Functions
• Ensure that every guest enjoys their experience and leaves with a memorable and positive impression of our winery, service, and wines.
• Assist in managing daily staff in multiple hospitality spaces to ensure exemplary hospitality and service are consistently provided and that company procedures are upheld.
• Communicate effectively with leadership on all relevant matters related to team members and guest satisfaction in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with the Hospitality Manager and Hospitality Operations Supervisor to coordinate staff scheduling, including lunches, breaks, regular shifts, approved absences,
call-off protocols, emergency situations, and special events; partners with HR on sick and return-to-work protocols.
• Lead and support the training and development of hospitality staff, ensuring alignment with service standards, ongoing education, and Trefethen University sessions.
• Maintain expert knowledge of POS and reservations systems; provide team members and guests with prompt resolutions to order and reservation issues.
• Oversee cash accounting procedures, ensuring accurate reconciliation and proper closing procedures at the end of each business day.
• Communicate recommendations to help the team achieve personal and team goals with the Hospitality Manager and collaborate to execute plans.
• Actively work on the Visitor Center floor and in back-of-house operations; serves as a Wine Educator, pouring wines and assisting with guest tours, tastings, and hospitality
experiences as needed during surge periods.
• Maintain a commanding knowledge of our wines, vineyards, winemaking, history and sense of place.
• Assist the Hospitality Manager in ensuring consistency in brand messaging, communication, talking points, and updates on wine and sales information for staff.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legal issues related to inter-state wine shipping; educate staff on related matters.
• Represent the winery at on-site and off-site tastings and events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
• Effective, courteous, and positive communication amongst internal and external guests
• Ability to address challenges, including any personnel issues, in a calm and respectful manner both in the moment and with required follow through
• Three years or more of prior lead or supervisory experience required.
• Relevant tasting room experience preferred, or equivalent wine knowledge/certifications.
• Must have demonstrated sales ability and excellent organizational and customer service skills.
• Proficient computer skills, including email, customer databases, Google, Outlook, Word and Excel
• Proficiency in POS and Reservations systems; Commerce7 and CellarPass a plus.
• The ability to work and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, while maintaining a high level of detail is required.
• Must be capable of working independently and have the ability to take initiative and be self-directed.
• Versatile, flexible, dependable, and willing to work within constantly changing priorities.
Working Conditions
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Operate a desktop computer using keyboard and mouse, employing repetitive arm and wrist motions
• Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers
• Specific vision abilities require close and distance vision
• Sit and stand for long periods of time
• Occasionally bend, stoop, reach, kneel, crouch or climb stairs

Pay Transparency Disclosure: The base pay scale offered for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hour. This salary range represents what we reasonably expect to pay for this position. However, the actual pay rate will depend upon job-related factors such as overall qualifications, skills, experience, education, etc. The Company reserves the right to modify the range at any time.
