Reichwage Winery is a family owned estate winery in Sebastopol that seeks an intern to assist our small team in all aspects of grape growing and winemaking for the 2025 vintage.
Grape varieties include Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Gamay Noir, mixed white varieties, Carignane, and Zinfandel, as well as several different apple cultivars for a small cider program.
This is an excellent opportunity to learn about all aspects of grape growing and winery systems in addition to wine production.
The anticipated start date is early August and will last until November. There is the possibility to stay-on with a full time position if the candidate is a good fit.
* Onsite housing can be provided, we have a newly remodeled studio/cabin available at our vineyard *
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in setting up the winery for harvest
- Fruit receiving and processing
- Equipment cleaning/sanitation
- Fermentation monitoring/recording
- Punch-downs & pump-overs
- Vineyard sampling and lab analysis
- Cluster/crop estimations
- Pressing whites grapes and red must
- Racking, washing, and filling barrels
- Packing and shipping web orders
The ideal candidate must have a serious interest in wine and a desire to have a career in the wine industry, good communication skills, a positive attitude, and willingness to work long hours during harvest. Candidate must be reliable and have their own transportation.
1 previous harvest experience is recommended. Applicants must be eligible to work in the US, and have a valid driver’s license.
