We are looking for a hardworking, service-oriented individual to add to our tasting room staff. Ideal candidates have a proven track record of providing excellent customer experiences in a sales-focused environment.
Desired Qualities:
- Professional, personable, welcoming, with excellent hospitality and customer service focus
- Strong wine knowledge of Washington State Wine and Wines of the World is required.
- Public speaking experience preferred but not required.
- Previous sales and customer service experience in the hospitality industry.
- Enthusiastic, passionate and an astute listener.
- Positive attitude in customer interactions and with co-workers.
- Proficient computer skills
- Regular evening, weekend and Holiday shifts required (Friday, Saturday & Sunday)
- Ability to work individually and in a team environment
- Working knowledge of WineDirect preferred, but not required
- Working knowledge of Tock, but not required
- Strong sense of urgency in matters related to retail floor tasks.
- Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in English, secondary language skills are a plus
General Duties and Responsibilities:

- Ensure all visitors are greeted in a timely fashion and leave with a positive, memorable experience.
- Effectively promote and sell wine and wine club memberships to guests
- Management of reservations and confirmation emails
- Assist with tastings room activities as needed
- Ensure all company policies and procedures are followed
- Represent the company and brand professionally, graciously and enthusiastically
- Participate in special events as well as off-site winery functions
- When serving as floor manager, create daily schedule and supervise Tasting Room operations on the sales floor
- Lead and motivate sales and support teams to achieve revenue goals; update staff on new promotions, assist tasting room staff as needed
- Audit tours and programs regularly, provide timely and relevant feedback to TR Associates, Tasting Room Manager and Director of Retail Operations
- Maintain the overall appearance of the sales floor, tasting rooms and private tasting area
- Troubleshoot POS system issues when required; support sales by successfully operating the POS system, ringing sales, placing shipping orders, opening and reconciling cash drawers accurately
- Resolve staff complaints promptly, seeking positive outcomes
- Resolves any Guest issues promptly, upholding over 99.5% Customer Satisfaction
- Manage Kitchen food inventory and prep to supplement Tasting Room meat and cheese program.
- Support Tasting Room Manager with administrative duties.
- Assists with hiring, training and supporting all tasting room staff
Staff Development:
- Train and develop staff with an emphasis on a wine education and exceptional customer service. Build opportunity for advancement, and provide timely and relevant feedback
- Mentor new employees to assist them in assimilating quickly, with attention to winery history and brand messaging as well as general operations
- Seek, suggest, and supervise training and educational opportunities for the entire team
- Update training manuals as needed
- Assist in seasonal and full-time hiring, including interviewing
Physical/Mental Requirements:
- Valid Washington State MAST Class 12 Permit
- Valid Washington State Food Handlers Permit
- Must be 21 years of age
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs
- Ability to read, understand and comprehend instructions, correspondences and memos
