Who We Are - Kivelstadt is a small production, family-owned winery in Sonoma known for new Californian Wine & Food, and we are looking for a part time Tasting Associate to join our team! The newly remodeled Kivelstadt Cellars & Winegarten features a wine tasting space, bar & lounge, and a full-service restaurant all in a beautiful outdoor space. Who You Are - Our wine educators are storytellers at heart. Tasting associates must be able to actively engage customers in our efforts in sustainability, natural wine production, and our commitment to make wine fun and accessible to everyone.
The ideal candidate is passionate about wine, has some wine knowledge, and is curious to learn more about sustainability, viticulture, and our presence in Sonoma. They must be outgoing and energetic, offering unwavering hospitality to our guests. Educators must be able to work independently as well as understand the importance of team collaboration and support. They should be comfortable speaking to groups of all sizes and conduct themselves with poise and confidence. The day-to-day responsibilities of this position are to maintain focus on sales and hospitality, all while ensuring that our guests enjoy a world-class experience.
This position is part time, requiring weekend availability, and occasionally evening events. Possible ‘on call’ shifts.
Key Responsibilities – Provide impeccable service to our guests and execute a hospitality experience that promotes our brand, values, and quality. Set up and host a variety of wine tastings for guests ranging from standard flights to fully customized options. Generate sales and wine club conversions. Set up and prepare for the day and all reserved groups. Maintain a clean working environment. Assist with restocking, inventory, and other maintenance tasks as necessary. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of all current/new releases, Wine Club programs and allocations, and on-site events/programming.
Qualifications – Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid California Driver’s License. Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly. Prior experience in retail, sales, and/or hospitality. Knowledge of wine, wineries, and vineyard operations is a plus. Requires excellent communication and customer service. Stand for up to 8 hours. Maintain professional and friendly standards in the work environment with both guests and colleagues alike. Adaptable, reliable, punctual, independent, and professional. Must be able to work weekends and some evenings. Team oriented but also able to work independently and responsibly.
