Title: Human Resources Generalist
Classification: Full-time, non-exempt
Reports to: Director, Human Resources
Location: Sebastopol, CA (travel one day per month to Turlock, CA)
Languages: Spanish and English language fluency, a must.

Role Overview:
Darey Brands is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist for their Sebastopol and Turlock locations. The HR Generalist will develop, execute, contribute to and/or coordinate a wide variety of HR responsibilities and programs including employee relations, payroll and benefits administration, workers’ compensation and LOAs, reporting and HRIS management, etc. The purpose of this role is to create a great workplace experience for all 120 employees of Darey Brands and improve and accelerate business, team and individual performance. Serve as champion of Darey Brands’ values, mission, and purpose with employees and externally.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•  Serve as primary HR on-site at Sebastopol facility and member of small HR team supporting two locations: Sebastopol and Turlock, CA.
•  Lead HRIS (UKG Ready and HR Suite) for the total employee experience including onboarding/offboarding, performance, recruiting, employee records, benefits etc. and ensure accurate employee data.
•  Train and educate staff regarding various HRIS modules (i.e., self-service, performance, time & attendance).
•  Serve as primary payroll and 401k administrator, partnering with the Finance team to ensure timely and accurate bi-weekly payroll processing for the company. Acts as a resource for payroll team to ensure compliance with laws, and HR and benefit policies. Handles relevant industry compensation and benefit surveys.
•  Administer benefits plans including open enrollment process and terminations. Processes required data/documents through the HRIS and insurance providers to ensure accurate record keeping and proper deductions in payroll. Educates employees, dependents, and applicants regarding plan provisions.
•  Ensure HR’s compliance with federal and California regulations. Keep Director of HR advised of potential issues and recommends/implements solutions as appropriate.
•  Coordinate administration of workers compensation, LOAs and income replacement compensation (short term disability, Paid Family Leave), and unemployment claims.
•  Assist with recruiting, including assisting with the drafting job descriptions, writing social/online job posts, screening applicants, interviewing, applicant tracking, background checks and coordinating interviews and selection.
•  Conduct new employee onboarding to ensure employees gain an understanding of the organization, benefit plans and enrollment provisions. Ensure all new employees are onboard consistently.
•  Support the Director of HR with company-wide programs and initiatives such as annual employee surveys, performance reviews, compensation reviews, talent succession planning, leadership development, etc.
•  Assist Director of HR in implementing initiatives to improve leadership effectiveness and employee development.
•  Partner with Operations supporting Safety training and support.
•  Assist in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
•  Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc reporting and as requested by Director of HR. Report on employee-related data as requested by Swiss-based ownership group, Emmi.

•  Strong data management and HR technology-related skills -- UKG Ready experience a MUST. HR Suite experience a bonus.
•  Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Minimum Qualifications:
•  B.A./B.S. degree preferred or A.A. degree in a related field of study and two years of additional work experience as described in the essential functions of the job description.
•  Three years of progressive human resource experience; at least two years of recent California experience performing the duties previously described.
•  Food Manufacturing experience preferred.
•  Valid California Driver’s License and clean DMVR
•  Preferred: S/PHR
