Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, performs a variety of maintenance in skilled trade areas such as carpentry, plumbing, painting, automotive, mechanical maintenance, electrical and air conditioning/heating/ ventilation. Assignments are complex and require journey level knowledge of methods, tools, codes, procedures, and material characteristics. Tasks involve complex troubleshooting, modification, installation, repair, servicing and similar maintenance operations where detailed knowledge and experience is required. Requires a well-rounded and experienced knowledge of the practices, tools, equipment, and materials used in skilled trade areas.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment and systems requiring the isolation of the malfunction, disassembly of equipment and repair/replacement of components.
Troubleshoot, repair and maintain facility plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems.
Responsible for general mechanical work connected with various projects such as refrigeration, HVAC, and other general production equipment as needed.
Assemble and install mechanical and electrical equipment and systems such as production machinery/tools, conveyor systems, storage racks and tanks.
Perform skilled level repairs and modifications on winery buildings performing tasks such as light plumbing and electrical, painting and minor carpentry type tasks and maintenance.
Performs required service requests for repairs and maintenance; determines the nature of the problem and recommends appropriate solutions for production and facilities to the maintenance supervisor.
Performs skilled level repairs and modifications on buildings and grounds performing tasks such as but not limited to plumbing, electrical, fabrication, construction, welding, painting, handy-man type tasks, and may include offsite maintenance of properties and equipment.
Ability to fabricate moderately complex systems including, but not limited to, piping systems, small electrical panels, or equipment to support production needs.
Use an electrical meter up to 480 VAC in troubleshooting and repairing electrical equipment.
Conducts preventative maintenance inspections and performs required preventative maintenance actions quarterly and annually.
Maintain organized and accurate inventory of spare parts.
Assist in wastewater, hazardous waste and water systems management.
Assist in other grounds, landscaping, or maintenance activities as needed.
Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Five (5) years journeyman level maintenance or general construction experience with knowledge of various trades including welding, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, refrigeration and installation.
Ability to perform welding, forklift repair and bottling line experience is strongly preferred.
Follow all safety protocols including lock out tag out of machinery and energized systems.
Requires skilled knowledge of how to operate trade tools and perform jobs at a high-quality while being safe.
Certification to operate specific machinery or plant vehicles (forklift) is required. Man and scissor lift certificate preferred.
Requires journey level knowledge of methods, tools, codes, procedures, and material characteristics.
Ability to perform basic math and basic computer skills required.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory requirements.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrates mechanical aptitude/dexterity.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to be organized and efficient.
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
Regularly lift and/or carry objects weighing 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or carry heavier objects.
The ability to work overtime, and/or night shift, on-call, including emergencies outside of normal working hours required.
Bilingual Spanish speaking skills a plus.
Valid and clean CA Driver’s License required.
