Hunnicutt Wine Company is a winery and custom crush facility focused on small production winemaking and is located in St. Helena, CA. Through our in-house brands and custom crush clients, we produce a wide range of varietals and wine styles, and we are seeking a new member of our production team who is interested in all the intricacies of winemaking, has a strong attention to detail, and an ability to work well with others as well as independently.
Duties, and Responsibilities:
As a Cellar Tech, you will work with the rest of the production team to facilitate all winemaking directives given via work order. You must be able to follow direction to a high degree of accuracy in a safe, clean and timely fashion. You will participate in the completion of varied duties, which include but are not limited to:
• Adherence to all Safety and Sanitation Protocols
• Wine Sampling
• Wine Transfers
• Wine Additions
• Blending and Amelioration
• Monthly Barrel Topping
• Wine Vessel Sanitation and Maintenance
• Bottling
• Rack and Returns
• Filtration
• Fining
• Barrel and Vessel Steaming
• Fruit Processing
• Press Operation
• Pump-overs and Punch-downs
• Communication with Clients
• Organization of Supplies
• Inventory Verification
Qualifications:
• 1-2 years’ experience in winery production or related fields.
• Secondary education in winemaking or related disciplines is a plus but not required.
• Forklift experience is a plus but is not required.
• Must be able to work safely and confidently around a variety of production equipment.
• Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions in English.
• Must have the ability and willingness to work extended hours, especially during the harvest season.
• Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs and stand for extended periods of time.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Must be at least 21 years of age and have legal United States work status.
Pay Range and Benefits:
• $22.00-$28.00 per hour based on experience level.
• Health Insurance paid fully for self.
• 10 paid holidays per year.
• 10 days of paid vacation time accrued annually.
