Job Description:

A small, renowned, high end winery is looking to fill a winemaker position at our Red Mountain Winery. This position manages all daily functions at the winery including supplies and equipment. This person should be able to work independently as well as overseeing others. Experience is necessary.

Production Responsibilities
•  Work closely with owner regarding all aspects of winemaking
•  Oversee all day-to-day cellar operations, with an emphasis on barrel maintenance, sanitation and cellar organization
•  Seasonal operations; harvest, bottling
•  Manage all harvest processes
•  Competent in Lab (wine analysis)
•  Record Keeping (Innovint)
•  Write work orders for all production related tasks from harvest to bottling
•  Contribute to the continuous improvement of the winemaking process and procedures
•  Conduct monthly inventory
•  Monitor the condition of all wines to prevent spoilage

Administrative Responsibilities
•  Complete Grape Report by deadline
•  Provide report to General Manager of grapes purchased and received
•  Data management of wine storage (Innovint)
•  Manage inventory levels of supplies and materials used in the winery
•  Responsible for moving wine from storage to winery and vice versa (post bottling)

Desired Skills
•  Strong communication skills
•  Attention to detail
•  Solid computer skills for reports, etc
•  Experience managing others
•  Ability to conduct tastings at the winery when necessary

This is a full time position requiring local residency. Competitive salary and health care stipend.
