St. Francis Winery & Vineyards is currently recruiting for a hard-working, energetic and enthusiastic Harvest Enologist to join our team for the 2025 Harvest.
This is a temporary, full-time position (May through November) with a Monday through Friday standard work week. Overtime is required as needed to meet operational needs.
St. Francis Winery offers a pay rate anticipated to be between $21.00 and $26.00 per hour, plus the potential for a $1,000 bonus. Details provided at the time of the interview.
Responsibilities include
• Vineyard/grape health monitoring
• Crop Estimation
• Grape sampling and maturity analysis
• Bottling analysis as needed
• Additions supply inventory
• Inoculations
• Enzyme/nutrient tank additions
• Fermentation checks
• Setup, calibration and standardization of lab equipment
• Chemical analysis of finished wines
• Data collection and analysis for both grapes & wine
• Enters data and maintains the Winemaker’s database Vintrace
• Generate standard reports and other reports as requested
• Acts as Weigh Master for grape and bulk wine deliveries and shipments, writing, calculating, and entering all weigh tags & Bills of Ladings.
• Cellar/barrel activities as needed
• Supports the Company’s sustainability and green initiatives
Education/Experience/Skills
• 1-2 Previous harvest experience required.
• Viticulture, Enology or Chemistry Science or related degree preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office preferred.
• Ability to work in a team environment and perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the Company’s policies.
• Accuracy, organizational ability and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Forklift certification a plus.
• Must be available to work from approximately Late May until mid to late November.
• Must also be dependable and flexible to work varying shifts, overtime, weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
