We are located in the northwest suburbs of Philadelphia with 22 acres of estate vineyards predominantly of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot. This is a great opportunity to learn and practice winemaking fundamentals from the vineyards through the entire winemaking process.
Duties assisting the winemaker and staff in all facets of winemaking and vineyard activities include but are not limited to:
• Pruning, and all other viticultural field work practices.
• Assist Vineyard Supervisor with tractor operating.
• Grape harvesting and processing at the winery.
• Daily pump-overs and pressing of red fermentations.
• Tank-to-tank juice and wine transfers.
• Barrel racking, filling, stirring, and topping.
• Tank additions of yeast, nutrients, and other adjustments.
• Bottling set-up and operation
• Winery equipment set-up, clean-up, and sanitation.
• Routine laboratory analysis
• Re-stocking and occasional support at the Tasting Room and winery events
Looking for an enthusiastic individual who has a passion for wine production as a career path, and who would enjoy making world-class wine in a supportive environment at a premier PA winery. Must possess a positive attitude, be detail-oriented, adhere to safe working practices, be able to lift 50 lbs., and be able to multi-task in a busy workplace. Some previous winery/vineyard experience and basic knowledge of chemistry, and microbiology are helpful, but not essential. This is an hourly, full-time entry level position with the possibility of additional hours during peak harvest time. Competitive wage commensurate with experience and excellent benefits package.
