Job Title On Call Event Captain – Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars

Reporting To Head of Special Events


Position Summary: The On Call Event Captain will work in conjunction with the Event team to execute events for Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars and Antinori Napa Valley. This includes Private Paid events, Wine Club parties, Employee/Internal events, VIP/Trade and Brand events. They will act as a brand ambassador providing exceptional customer service, offering welcoming and memorable experiences.

Essential Functions
•  Provide direction to event caterers and their staff in accordance with standards of service and hospitality
•  Act as an on-site contact during tastings/events
•  Conduct tours and wine tastings as needed
•  Assist with the set up and break down of events
•  Assist with the service of food and wine during events
•  Complete closing duties when needed after hours
•  Serve as an ambassador of the company, exemplifying excellence in customer service
•  Additional duties assigned by Manager

Non-Essential Functions
•  Ability to work varying shifts/days of week, including weekends and evenings
•  Ability to work in various weather conditions

Physical Requirements
•  Ability to stand for long periods of time
•  Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
•  Ability to bend on a repetitive basis when needed

Qualifications
•  3 years of luxury customer service experience preferred
•  Excellent communication skills, customer service skills, and the ability to prioritize while handling multiple tasks is required
•  Must be enthusiastic with excellent customer service skills, enjoy working with people and possess a friendly, outgoing, and positive personality
•  Strong verbal communication skills with ability to communicate effectively in a polished, professional, and friendly manner
•  Ability to speak comfortably and audibly in front of groups of people
•  Must have ability to multi-task, be detail-oriented, and adapt and show flexibility to changing job requirements
•  Ability to function and communicate effectively under pressure
•  Must be punctual and reliable
•  A proactive and confident self-starter
•  Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
•  Licensed, permitted, and/or certified by state and/or local regulatory bodies (responsible beverage service training)
