Position Summary: Purchases packaging materials for wine and non-wine related products at minimum cost, consistent with delivery requirements and quality specifications, to support the production schedule for numerous brands and clients. Maintains inventory logs for products and services. Assists with dry goods inventory management for the Napa facility to maintain proper space management and inspecting incoming materials to maintain quality control and proper inventory levels.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Inventory management responsibilities for all dry goods to include: writing up dry goods, receipts, entering receiving into NAV, adjusting purchase orders, KwikTag and scan receiving documents, NAV Inventory Adjustments for re-packs, M-Scrap and Obsolete ware.
• Purchases all non-bom related materials such as case labels, shippers, export case labels, and bottling line materials. Manages can procurement. When necessary, processes pricing revisions, initiates order cancellations and initiates delivery date revisions.
• Produces weekly scrap reports for production to complete. Researches on-hand materials and provides counts to production for verification prior to bottling.
• Enters bottlings into NAV. Prepares contract services bottling reports and backup documentation for customers.
• Updates bottling schedule with notes/instructions and communicates changes to the team.
• Assists with the annual dry goods inventory: prints tags, enters counts, enters adjustments, researches flagged inventory discrepancies.
• NAV responsibilities include running Inventory and Open Order Reports and assisting in reconciling them to inventory on hand.
• Acts as a back up to all aspects of the Packaging Procurement Manager’s position, including purchase order tracking to ensure JIT Inventory management.
• Identifies, documents, and implements opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Key contributor on the safety team.
• Actively participates in and abides by all HACCP and ISO programs as part of SB compliance. Member of HACCP and ISO teams.
• Performs special assignments, projects, and other duties as requested.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience.
• Five plus years’ experience in purchasing; winery or food related manufacturing experience desirable.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Excellent Project Management Skills.
Physical Requirements:
• Requires ability to use up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or 10 pounds continuously to move objects.
• Requires ability to walk, stand and sit, sometimes for prolonged periods of time.
