National Sales Manager (full-time, salary exempt)

Titus Vineyards & Winery is a family-owned business in the St. Helena AVA. The Titus family has farmed their vineyard for over 50 years in the heart of Napa Valley. Our estate winery is on our property to enable nimble and thoughtful wine growing and making. Our wines are consistently recognized for quality and value. The national sales manager will drive this message and sales in California and the national market through sales presentations and sales management, working independently with FOB customers, distributor teams, and key accounts. There is close support from ownership and the winery team.

Position Summary
The National Sales Manager is responsible for driving and managing sales and distribution of wine to all outside channels of sale. The NSM is expected to present, sell, and execute brand initiatives that will increase net revenue, broaden distribution, achieve Winery’s sales objectives, and accelerate sell-through by building brand awareness.

The NSM is responsible for managing relationships with customers, distributors, brokers, sales reps, and wine buyers. The sales manager’s position requires developing sales strategies and tactics for reaching sales targets and ensuring profitability for the company. The NSM is responsible for maintaining established accounts with a first-year emphasis on independently opening accounts in California.

Time Balance:
•  60% Direct Sales activities with targeted and key accounts without local sales representatives, including presentations, sales training, and selling events
•  30% Sales activities with wholesalers and national on-prem broker
•  10% Sales Analysis, Communication, Business Reviews, and Planning with the winery team, direct sales accounts, and distributors

Basic Position Requirements:
•  Demonstrable, professional wine knowledge of Napa Valley and the Cabernet Sauvignon market.
•  Must reside in California, preferably in the North Bay Area, and be able to work in the office and remotely.
•  Ability to travel within California to work independently and with distributor representatives on sales prospecting, presentations, and follow-ups in the market on a regular basis as well as occasional evenings and weekends based on market needs.
•  Ability to travel outside of California (as noted above) to work assigned markets as directed.
•  Proactive customer service orientation.
•  Exceptional one-on-one presentation ability and effective public speaking (group communication) skills.
•  Competent with basic features in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) as well as knowledge and experience with Customer Relationship Management software with excellent English language communication skills (both written and oral).
•  Absorb market data and feedback to create sales strategies and execute tactics for sales objectives.
•  Hold and maintain a valid California Driver's License and be insurable by company standards.
•  Must have a vehicle for sales travel within California.
•  Unambiguous adherence to local, regional, and state regulations and laws in all markets where Titus Vineyards conducts business.
•  Maintain a professional image, and a respectful demeanor, and deftly navigate a broad range of personalities and social settings.
•  Ability to lift 50 lbs or more.

- Base salary plus commission
