As we prepare to launch Mark Herold Wines 2.0, we are seeking a Hospitality Associate to join our dynamic, tight-knit team. This role will be crucial in enhancing and growing our hospitality program during this exciting transition.
This position may transition to a full-time role depending on visitor numbers and individual performance.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is a hospitality and sales-focused role. Primary functions include selling wine, hosting educational tastings indoors and out on the terrace, conducting outreach as needed, organizing inventory, assisting the management team with driving sales and facilitating tasks pertinent to keeping the tasting room running smoothly. Successful candidates will operate with optimism, and demonstrate exceptional customer service, professionalism, attention to detail, and timely execution. This is a key role in increasing tasting room sales and attracting, building, and maintaining a loyal customer base for Mark Herold Wines.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tasting Room
Provide an engaging and educational experience for visitors.
Collect guest information to strengthen our relationships with customers and expand our database.
Process orders efficiently.
Display and restock wine and retail items.
Regularly count, organize, and maintain inventory.
Clean dishware and ensure the facility remains tidy.
Assist with special events on and off-site.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES: (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)
At least 2 years of experience in a hospitality-driven environment.
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
Passion for hospitality, storytelling, and genuinely connecting with guests.
Excellent oral and written communication and strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with various people across all direct-to-consumer channels.
Express a high level of luxury communication via email and phone.
Versatile, flexible, and willing to work enthusiastically within constantly changing priorities.
Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capability to multitask, follow up, and follow through effectively.
High proficiency in converting interest into sales and club memberships.
Eagerness and ability to learn about wines, share the winery’s story, provide information about the winemaker’s background, and answer visitor questions.
Ability to self-manage priorities and workflow.
Experience with telesales, text, and email campaigns is a plus.
Experience with Wine Direct or similar CRM is a plus.
Proficient in computer skills, including Word, Excel, and CRM software.
Familiarity with Google Suite, including Google Drive, Google Calendar, and Gmail.
Must be able to lift and carry items up to 40 pounds.
Weekends are required, plus occasional evenings, as needed.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
COMPENSATION:
Hourly pay is DOE + gratuities, wine club, and sales incentive.
Potential year-end bonus award based on objective and subjective criteria. Candidates will be eligible for an annual bonus based on individual qualitative goals based on company financial achievement.
