Seasonal Part-Time Wine Educator

Summary
We are searching for a seasonal, part-time Wine Educator to join our team. This person should be passionate about wine and hospitality, and ready to join an organization in which they love coming to work every day.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
•  Greets all visitors to the Tasting Room, pours and discusses wines for tasting, and responds to customer questions as appropriate.
•  Ensures that every visitor enjoys their wine tasting experience and leaves with a very high impression of our wines and our hospitality.
•  Is knowledgeable about and accurately describes wines, winemaking techniques, winery history, appellations, and unique aspects of wines.
•  Effectively promotes and sells wine and Wine Club memberships to customers.
•  Host all experiences offered with enthusiasm and attention to detail, including private tours and tastings.
•  Accurately processes routine purchasing transactions, including operating cash register, accounting of daily sales, and discounts.
•  Takes the initiative for self-development in the areas of our wines, our brand, general hospitality, and in acquiring effective sales techniques and acumen.
•  Participates in company-sponsored wine education and development opportunities.
•  Maintains current knowledge of shipping compliance and limitations in regards to inter-state and international wine shipments
•  Participates and assists with special hospitality events that occur at the winery.
•  Participates in daily operations of setting up, maintaining, and closing tasting rooms and guest and service areas.
•  Assists with display and pricing of retail items and wines as needed.
•  Other duties as assigned.

•  Shows commitment to excellence and takes pride in work
•  Possesses or can develop solid knowledge of wines and winemaking processes
•  Consistently demonstrates outstanding customer service skills, poise and tact in working with the public.
•  Is flexible and can manage constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
•  Professional appearance and demeanor.
•  Proficient with WineDirect or similar POS & CRM systems.
•  Must be at least 21 years of age.
•  Must be able to commit to working weekends and have flexibility for shift schedules during the week; occasional evenings required.
•  Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time, lift 40 lbs, and walk up stairs
