The Senior Accountant will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely financial reporting and providing strategic support to the management team. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This role is eligible for remote work but is required to be onsite at the winery at least 3 days a week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Accounting
• Monitor GL and ensure data accuracy; works with management to investigate and correct discrepancies; follows up on budget variances and outliers.
• Collect and analyze financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts and document business transactions.
• Preparation of Bank Reconciliations, flagging potential errors and discrepancies and anticipating cash flow needs.
• Conduct monthly reconciliation of inventory.
• Assist Accounting Lead and Director of Finance with month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and support financial reporting.
• Prepare annual Personal Property tax statements, quarterly Sales and Use Tax, and other fiscal returns routinely for timely submission in adherence to all required deadlines.
• Assist in the preparation of data for external financial reviews and audits, respond timely to auditor inquiries.
• Interacts with all departments in the training and guidance of proper expense coding and other accounting team's financial processes.
• Stay current with changes in accounting regulations and standards.
• Responsible for maintaining and updating SOP for Senior Accountant duties and responsibilities.
Financial Planning & Reporting
• Assist with development of annual budget, long-range financial plan, and LE forecast updates.
• Develop and manage financial models to project short- and long-term balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow. Build volume and revenue plans and forecasts by item and sales channel.?
• Refine reporting within current systems and with new applications.
• Special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: N/A
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the wine or beverage industry.
• Experience with financial modeling and data analysis.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in ERP accounting software, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office Suite. Microsoft Business Central experience desired.
• Strong Excel skills, including proficiency in advanced formulas, functions, data manipulation techniques, and visualization tools, including pivot tables, conditional formatting, and charting, enabling efficient data analysis and reporting
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills; able to professionally communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• High attention to detail.
Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, lifting up to 50 pounds, and other activities necessary to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation.

COMPENSATION: Base Compensation Range: $45.00 – $55.00 USD per hour*
