Working closely with the Hospitality Manager, the Front of House Supervisor serves an integral leadership role supervising a large sales staff, is involved with achieving PEJU’s Tasting Room’s sales goals, meeting day-to-day objectives and fostering a collaborative and spirited team environment. Additional responsibilities include, training, mentoring and the supervising of scheduled Tasting Room staff. This position requires a proactive, results-oriented individual who promotes exceptional hospitality, exhibits a strong work ethic, and maintains a passion for outstanding sales results. Other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Greeting and welcome visitors, providing excellent customer service.
• Provide leadership in all aspects of guest sales and guest hospitality by always modeling the highest level of guest service and focused sales behavior.
• Assist customers in choosing wines and answering inquiries about the winery and its offerings.
• Handle customer concerns or issues with professionalism and focus on resolution.
• Manager of the Day (MOD) assignments which includes all duties pertinent to effectively managing guest relations and open & closing duties. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Tasting Room, ensuring it is clean, organized, and well-maintained.
• Educate customers on the winemaking process, different wine varieties, and food pairings.
• Sales and Upselling: Share techniques with the team.
• Promote wine club membership, events, and other offerings to boost sales.
• Implement strategies to increase average transaction value through effective upselling.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
• Deep knowledge of and commitment to excellence in wine, hospitality, and guest experiences. Associates, or two-year college degree, and/or related experience and training.
• One or more years’ experience in a winery, restaurant, and/or retail wine. Deep understanding of wine and food and consumer insights.
• One or more years of management or supervisory experience.
• Demonstrated leadership, with expertise in developing, inspiring and building engagement and trust with employees.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Ability to embrace change and deliver top results no matter the obstacle.
• Ability to project credibility, in an honest, genuine and professional manner.
• Excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
• TIPS certification.
• Food Handler certification.
