Part-Time Hospitality Associate

Job Description:

Domaine Divio is a boutique winery in Newberg specializing in high-end, Burgundian-style Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from our estate and select vineyards in the Willamette Valley. We are looking for a part-time Hospitality Associate to join our team and contribute to the success of our tasting room and brand. This position requires weekend availability (Saturday and Sunday), with the potential for additional shifts on Fridays, occasional evenings, and high-traffic holidays as needed.


The ideal candidate is charismatic, personable, and passionate about wine, with a strong commitment to hospitality. This role is best suited for someone who identifies as a wine professional or is eager to deepen their knowledge and experience in the wine industry. At Domaine Divio, we take pride in delivering exceptional guest experiences, sharing our story, and building lasting relationships with our visitors and wine club members.


This position offers flexibility in scheduling while maintaining a consistent weekend presence, making it ideal for candidates seeking supplemental work or looking to gain experience in a high-end wine hospitality setting.


Hospitality Associate Expectations:
•  Welcome all guests warmly and provide a memorable, world-class tasting experience
•  Deliver engaging and educational wine presentations tailored to each guest
•  Observe and respond to guest cues to enhance their experience and maximize sales opportunities
•  Confidently share the Domaine Divio story, communicating our brand message and philosophy
•  Promote and sell our wine club memberships with enthusiasm
•  Collect guest contact information for continued engagement.


Duties and Responsibilities:
•  Operate POS system for sales transactions, shipping orders, and wine club sign-ups
•  Lead table-side tastings, ensuring a relaxed and informative experience
•  Accurately describe our wines, winemaking techniques, and the unique qualities of the Willamette Valley
•  Assist with private tastings, special events, and offsite wine promotions as needed
•  Participate in ongoing wine education and training
•  Maintain the tasting room: stocking wine, cleaning glassware, setting up materials, and food prep for cheese/charcuterie offerings
•  Foster relationships with industry professionals to build strong referral partnerships.


Requirements:
•  Passion for wine, hospitality, and guest engagement
•  Flexibility with schedule.
•  Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a natural ability to connect with people
•  Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
•  Must be comfortable speaking to both small groups and larger crowds
•  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, etc.)
•  OLCC permit and Food Handler’s permit required by the first day of work
•  Ability to work weekends, special events, and occasional holidays
•  Must be at least 21 years old
•  Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
•  CMS/WSET credentials preferred but not required
•  Prior experience in hospitality, food service, or customer service preferred but not required


Schedule & Compensation:
•  Part-time, weekend-based position (Saturday & Sunday required, with flexibility for additional shifts)
•  Participation in tip pool and commission opportunities for wine club sign-ups
