Dr. Revana’s Alexana Estate in Oregon’s Dundee Hills is looking for a new assistant winemaker following the promotion of our long-time assistant. We are a four-person team responsible for the production of 97 acres of organically-farmed Pinot noir, Chardonnay, Pinot gris, Cabernet franc and Sauvignon blanc from our two Estate vineyards in the Dundee Hills alongside selections from some of the valley’s most interesting and respected vineyards.
Alexana Estate is the largest of the three wineries within the Revana Portfolio of winegrowing Estates which includes Revana Family Vineyard in St. Helena, California, and Corazon del Sol in Argentina’s Uco Valley.
What we’re seeking in the ideal candidate:
• 5+ years experience in world-class production environments
• A degree in Enology or closely-related field
• Exposure to Pinot production in the world’s best regions, Burgundy experience is a major plus
• Attention to detail and the ability to juggle the logistics of small-batch winemaking on a larger scale
• A problem-solver who embraces collaboration and challenges assumptions and techniques to continue evolving wine quality

• A diverse approach to intentional winemaking—whole cluster, carbonic, extended maceration, concrete, wood and stainless fermenters, organic viticulture, concrete elevage, large format barrels, solids-heavy reductive techniques, twelve different clones of Pinot noir and four of Chardonnay across our two estates
Some Key Responsibilities:
• Work closely with the winemaker to ensure winemaking protocols are followed and refined and that quality is always maintained
• Oversight of enologist and cellar master
• Recruit, interview and hire harvest intern crew
• Ensure production records are current and in compliance
• Build competitive sets and conduct tastings to better understand Alexana’s positioning in the broader industry and to develop new winemaking techniques
• Schedule preventative maintenance, monitor and repair harvest equipment as needed
• Manage sampling of grapes and tracking fruit maturity. Work with winemaker to develop picking schedule
• Ensure proper lab and cellar protocols are followed
• Assist in project management of all facilities projects/improvements (buildings, warehouses, wells, etc)
• Participation in all blending sessions for Alexana Estate wines and periodic private client sessions
A few required skills:
• Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid driver’s license
• Able to safely lift 50lbs and stand for extended periods of time
• Forklift certified
• Flexible with work hours. Extended hours and weekends are a part of every harvest. There will be periodic evening and weekend work throughout the year as well
• Proficiency with a computer. We use cloud-based inventory management software
• Proficient in the lab. Familiarity with the Y15 autoanalyzer also a major plus
