Summary
This position is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of the tasting room(s) and for ensuring high-quality customer service amongst the front-of-house team by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties
1.Ensures consistent presence as the on-the floor manager overseeing high level guest experiences and customer service
2.Collaborates with Hospitality Management Team to ensure the Tasting Room staff receives the appropriate level of managerial support during service
Job Duties
Leads the daily operations of the Tasting Room to achieve revenue goals, club member growth and ensure the highest level of service
• Manages daily business operations including but not limited to inventory management of wine, tasting room supplies, beverages and kitchen supplies, shipping, and reporting
• Oversees Tasting Room staff development, supervision, and performance evaluation
• Creates a culture of excellent customer service for every guest
• Coordinates food orders with the culinary team and works to expand the culinary program with fun and creative revenue driven ideas
• Anticipates the needs, expectations and questions of a wide variety of guests
• Develops monthly sales programs to drive traffic and sales
• Experience with computers/software: Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe; POS/Inventory systems – WineDirect POS and Admin, Tock, Winedirect fulfillment, etc
• Highly organized, self-directed, and works independently as well as overseeing a team
• Strong ability to multitask and pivot in a quick changing environment
• Respectfully takes direction from managers
• Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance
• Outreach with other wineries and represent the winery at industry events
• Other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises Tasting Room employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education & Experience
High School Diploma or GED; or at least five years managerial experience in a fast-paced food service environment or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Three to five-year(s) experience working in a fine dining restaurant and/or tasting room is preferred.
Travel
This position requires minimal travel across the state and may include overnight or daytrips.
Certificates, Licenses and/or Registrations
Valid, current OLCC license. Valid, current Oregon Food Handler’s card. Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Computer Skills
Job requires specialized computer skills. Must be adept at using various applications including database, spreadsheet, report writing, project management, graphics, word processing, presentation creation/editing, communicate by e-mail and use scheduling software.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
